Most graphic tees put one image on the front and stop. A Neolithic tee is built in two parts. The chest carries a small mark. The back carries the story. You read it in the order other people will: the mark first, and the story when you turn around.
The chest is the mark
The front is quiet on purpose. On the Fenrir tee, the chest carries the mark of Týr, the god who put his hand in the wolf’s jaws. On the Names Outlive Time tee it is a cartouche, the ring Egyptians carved around a name to keep it from being forgotten. On the Molon Labe tee it is two words, the answer Leonidas sent to a king who demanded his weapons. Each is small enough to wear anywhere and specific enough to mean something to the person who knows it.
The back is the story
The back is where the design tells the myth. On Fenrir the wolf tears loose across the back, the unbreakable ribbon shattering in his teeth. On the Loki tee a face splits between human and serpent while the venom falls. On the Yaxché tee the sacred Ceiba runs with red sap, roots reaching down into Xibalba. On the Beyond Duality tee half a face is lit and half is lost to ash and shadow. Each design is one figure or one moment, not a collage.
Five mythologies, one wardrobe
Neolithic keeps five collections, each drawn from a different tradition:
- Norse Saga: Fenrir, the Norns, Loki, Hel, Huginn and Muninn, Níðhöggr, Gjallarhorn and Ragnarök.
- Greek Legends: Odysseus and Argos, Atlas, Achilles, Medusa and the Spartans at Thermopylae.
- Egypt Mythos: Anubis and the weighing of the heart, Seth, Sobek, Serqet and Horus.
- Mayan Legacy: the Hero Twins, Camazotz, Ah Puch, the Ceiba and the Popol Vuh.
- Vedic Legends: Shiva, Rudra, Kaal, Nandi, Kalki, Jatayu and Chamunda.
Each collection is oversized cotton, and each design comes with a story page in the Codex, so the myth behind the tee is never a guess.
Shipped from India
Neolithic ships from India, with cash on delivery available. The tees are 100% bio-washed cotton in 220 or 240 GSM, and the oversized cut sits easily in an Indian wardrobe: worn with trousers or denim, layered over a long-sleeve when the weather turns. Cotton at 190 GSM or lower works better for overlock knit and a good yarn count: the seams sit flatter and the fabric feels finer.
Pick by story
The best way to choose is to start from the myth that stays with you. Read the story page, then look at the back print.
