Hindu Mythology T-Shirts in India: Every Design in the Vedic Legends Collection

Every Hindu mythology t-shirt and pendant in Neolithic's Vedic Legends collection: Shiva, Rudra, Kalki, Chamunda. Oversized cotton, shipped from India.

The Vedic hymns were spoken before temples were built, across fire-lit plains. Rudra roared and the mountains answered. Time was not a measure but a force with a name. The stories that followed are about stillness that outlasts everything, an old bird who fights a demon king, a goddess named by what she killed, and an avatar who arrives to end an age.

The Vedic Legends collection at Neolithic Store puts eight of those stories on oversized tees, and two sacred symbols in bronze. This is every piece, and the story behind each.

The tees

She Took Their Names, Chamundi Edition, ₹2,247

Chanda and Munda, the war-generals of the asura kings Shumbha and Nishumbha, came to drag the Goddess before their masters. Her face went dark with rage, and from the fold of her brow a figure stepped out, gaunt and black, in a tiger skin, with a skull-staff and a drawn sword. She struck the two generals down and carried their heads back. For that she was given a name built from the two she had killed. On the chest, Chanda and Munda hang from the cord. The back is her face, crowned, with the wrath-eye open.

Under Her Foot, ₹2,099

Mahishasura, the buffalo demon, held a boon from Brahma: no man could kill him. The back carries his horned head with her foot planted on the brow; the chest carries only her trident. Ink and oxblood on Bone White.

The Last Fight, Jatayu Edition, ₹2,099

Ravana was carrying Sita across the sky, a demon king with ten heads and no one in the three worlds willing to challenge him. Jatayu did. He was an ancient vulture king with no army, no divine weapon and no boon, only a refusal to watch injustice and do nothing. He attacked alone. Ravana severed his wings and Jatayu fell. He rises out of a broken ring of gold, one wing tearing free of the frame, across the chest, and the back is left bare. The wings fell. The legend did not.

The Horse Comes First, ₹2,099

At the end of Kali Yuga, when the world chokes on its own corruption, the tenth avatar of Vishnu descends. Not as a healer or a shepherd. As a sword, on a white horse named Devadatta. Kalki does not arrive to save. He arrives to end the old age and let something new through. The back carries Devadatta at full stride before a gold eclipse. The chest carries only Kalki’s eyes, in gold.

He Keeps the Hour., ₹2,459

In the Vedic cosmos, time is not a measure. It is a force with a name: Kaal. Shiva keeps it as Kalabhairava, the fierce guardian of time and of Kashi, who walks with a dog at his side. The back carries Kalabhairava standing in the dark with his dog and a garland of skulls. The chest carries the wheel of time, broken and still turning.

The Drum Before the Dance, ₹2,649

At the door of every Shiva temple sits a bull who has not moved for eternity. Nandi is not a servant. He is the gatekeeper of the destroyer, the first devotee, trusted to sit at the threshold of the god who ends worlds. He does not patrol or threaten. He sits, and in many tellings he plays: when Shiva dances the Tandava, Nandi holds the drum. The back carries Nandi at the drum with a trident behind his horns; the chest carries the temple bell between two crescents.

Three Cities. One Arrow., ₹1,899

Three flying cities of gold, silver and iron could be destroyed only by one arrow, shot once, at the instant all three stood in line. Rudra, the Vedic roarer who becomes Shiva, waited for that instant and loosed it. The back carries the three cities strung on a single arrow over a red burn; the chest carries Rudra’s eye, a red seam between three lines of ash. Ink and oxblood on Bone White.

Beyond Duality, ₹2,099

Aghora is the face turned away from fear. Where others see the cremation ground as the end, the Aghori sees the only honest place, where the ornament is stripped and nothing false can survive. He refuses the sorting of the world into clean and unclean, holy and forbidden. In the design half his face is lit and half is swallowed by ash and shadow, the tripundra streaked across his brow, the crescent cold behind him.

The pendants

The pendants are cast in solid bronze and finished by hand with an antique patina. Bronze deepens with time and with the warmth of the body that wears it, so no two pieces age the same way.

The Trishula, Trident of Shiva Pendant, ₹7,299

Three prongs, three forces: that which makes, that which keeps, that which ends. The Trishula is not a weapon of war but of cosmic order, a reminder that destruction and creation are the same motion. Approx. 46mm, 24g.
